Meet Kimberley Holstein

The Rise West Grove Estates is one of our most popular communities in Calgary as it offers the chance to live close to downtown while still maintaining a suburban and close-knit community vibe. Kimberley Holstein is our Area Sales Manager for the community, and she brings a wealth of knowledge in the industry and a passion for helping homebuyers find their dream home. Kimberley has been with Cedarglen Homes for 16 years and has worked in the homebuilding industry for 25 years. She has a very hands-on background with building homes as she has personally framed walls, mudded and sanded drywall, painted and stained, installed asphalt roofing, poured concrete, installed hardware and much more! This vast amount of experience proves that she understands the building process thoroughly and can easily communicate with her clients.

1. WHY WOULD YOU CHOOSE TO BUILD WITH CEDARGLEN HOMES AND WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE?

I believe that what makes Cedarglen Homes standout as the ‘Builder of Choice’ is the high level of communication throughout the sales, design and build process. Each purchaser is integrated into this communication process and they are made to feel a part of the journey every step of the way. For an Area Sales Manager, the communication that transfers between all departments is key as it is valuable in creating the ideal experience for everyone involved!

2. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MODEL (& WHY?)

Wow, well this one is more difficult to answer as I have many favourites. Looking back at our previous models I really loved our Verdelho and Heatherington bungalows. The Legacy was a neat 1.5-storey home with vaulted ceilings and the Winston was a favourite of mine for its traditional feel of formal spaces. Of our current models the Huxley 28 is one of the best in my opinion and it has also sold quite well in the community.

3. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PART ABOUT YOUR COMMUNITY?

The strongest attribute to West Grove is the fact that you can build a brand-new home in an existing development with plenty of amenities, while still having a close commute to downtown. That is quite difficult to find in Calgary right now.

4. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK/SOMETHING INTERESTING ABOUT YOU?

I have a large family with 4 children, 5 grandchildren and 2 more on the way so I am kept plenty busy. I love being on the water in our boat on a hot day and I love a camp fire on a warm summer night watching the sunset. But most of all right now I love spending time with my grandchildren – giving them lots of hugs, play time and reading stories at bedtime are the moments I cherish most.

5. WHAT IS A GOOD HOME BUYERS TIP FOR PEOPLE LOOKING TO BUILD A NEW HOME?

The best tip I can offer a prospective buyer is to do your research beforehand. Know what your current square footage is and think about what it is you no longer like or want in your current home. Ask yourself what you want in your future community and spend time finding the area that is right for you. Consider your family dynamics and whether your family will be growing soon and if you may need more or less space than you currently have? Lastly, schedule an appointment with a mortgage specialist to discuss a pre-approval – with a pre-approval in place you can relay a realistic purchase budget to the Area Sales Manager. If some of these questions are considered and you have your answers ready, the Sales person in the showhome is more readily able to direct the purchaser into the best new home purchase and experience from the start. Another important tip to consider is be sure you carefully read through all the purchase documents.
